E.K. is a UK based author who is passionate about giving children a healthy start in life and creating positive habits for life.
With three teenage kids, E-K has experienced the frustrations of having fussy eaters at home. The COVID pandemic and subsequent lockdown were the impetus to actually put pen to paper and use these experiences to make a difference.
Getting our children involved in food choices, especially at a very young age, can make such a difference to their attitudes and tastes as they develop and grow. I have had a difficult relationship with vegetables all my life, with peas as almost my only choice for many years, I am getting better and through experimenting and trying new ways to eat my veg, I am broadening my horizons. When I see people who love vegetables, I do wish I could be more like them and so want to help others avoid my dilemma and get off to a great start.

What Broccoli Don't Like is the first in a series of fun rhyming picture books on different vegetables to encourage to children to see vegetables as cool characters and fun creations. My hope is that these will help inspire children on what to eat, encourage families to work together to prepare their food and even try growing some of what they eat.
My second book, What an Onion Really Wants continues the theme and follows an onion as he dreams about being the star of the meal, instead of just an ingredient, hidden from view. What do you think, I'd love to hear your thoughts on the subject? Get in touch by email at e-k@ekfinlay.com as it is always great to hear other peoples experiences and thoughts (and solutions) when dealing with fussy eaters and creating healthy habits for our children. |
